Young patients and their families came together to explore arthritis research in August. The Childhood Arthritis Prospective Study (CAPS) joined forces with the NIHR Manchester Musculoskeletal Biomedical Research Unit (BRU) and Arthritis Research UK to hold its annual open day on Wednesday 15th August at the Nowgen Centre in Manchester. The day included a range of family‐friendly activities and the chance for researchers and patients to discuss the latest research developments. Over 65 members of the public attended the event and many of them stayed for more than two hours, as they wanted to meet all the researchers and try the different activities. There were also about 20 researchers involved in running the event between 10am– 3pm. Most of the families that attended this event were already participating in the CAPS study, but there were some families who attended the event to find out more about research in this area.
